BABYSITTING HONEY

Jed and Ashlee are in Hawaii so we have the privelege of watching Honey. She is the cutest little thing and loves to play.

She is pouting in this picture because she wants me to go outside and throw snowballs so she can find them in the snow. She knows this method works.

She decided she doesn't like me reading the paper so she just sits on it. She doesn't realize how much I love my paper and coffee in the morning.

.

She is waiting anxiously for another one.

BANDIT

My sister, Diane, just bought a horse named Bandit.  He is 11 years old and she says he  seems pretty mellow (probably a good thing at her age) and should be a good riding horse.  We grew up with horses so hopefully it's like riding a bike-once you learn you don't forget. I can't wait to get on myself.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy New Year!! What a terrific time to reflect on the past year and think about setting some new goals for the new year. My personal goals are to eat healthier, excerise more, spend less time on the computer, and do more for others. The other day I came across these 15 tips to help us to be better people and to be more effective with other people and I thought I would share them with you. Let's all make this the best year ever!!!!

1. To be a friend, you must be one.
2. Don't try to impress others. Let them impress you.
3. People hunger to be needed, wanted, and loved. Help create these feelings for others.
4. Be Kind to people. You can't always love them, but you can be kind to them.
5. Learn to like yourself. Others will respond to you the way you respond to yourself.
6. Be enthusiatic. Nothing significant was ever achieved without enthusiasm.
7. Be Positive. Positive people attract others; negative people repel others.
8. Do things to make people feel important. Write a letter, give a compliment, say thank you. Praise, encourage, support, and cooperate.
9. Call a person by name. Use people's names often in converstion.
10. Avoid Arguments.
11. Be a good listener. The way you listen has a greater effect on others than the way you talk.

12. Unless you can say something worthy about a person, say nothing.
13. If you're going to make fun of someone, make sure it's yourself.
14. Communicate cheerfulness. Smile, be pleasant, and talk about the brighter things in life.
15. Be genuinely interested in others. Get them to talk about themselves, ask for their opinions, ideas and viewpoints.

FAMILY PHOTO SHOOT

Yesterday we had our family pictures taken up Mueller Canyon in Bountiful.  As you can tell it was a little bit chilly without our coats but we all cowboyed up and managed to get a few shots  without our coats on.

IT'S LOOKING ALOT LIKE CHRISTMAS........

I finally got my house all decorated and it's feeling like Christmas!!! I had my annual cookie exchange today so that is why the table is all set.

I absolutely love this nativity set. Mark and the kids gave it to me for my birthday one year.

It's amazing what you can with a few greens, a few roses and some fresh cranberries.

Every year I try to do something a little different with my tablescape. I used terra cotta pots and spray
painted them white and added fresh greeniers with a big round Christmas ornament in the middle.

I absolutely love Better Homes and Garden's web site. I got this floral arrangement idea along with the one above from their site.  It it so pretty when you light the candles in the middle.  They are kind of hard to see in the photo.

If you decide to push fresh greenery around your mirrors, you need to spray it daily with water to keep it fresh through Christmas.

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK LIKE CHRISTMAS.............

I absolutely love decorating for Christmas. I listen to all of my favorite Christmas music and it's amazing the wonderful mood it puts me in. I still have a few things to decorate but I wait until about 10 days before Christmas because I use fresh flowers and greenery in a few arrangements.
